Kids and adults will never be bored during a visit to the Intu Braehead Centre. There are plenty of restaurants to enjoy a meal out with friends and family or if you're feeling active jump into one of the many heart-pumping attractions on offer.
With Intu Braehead, you might as well clear a full day your diary it is a mecca for activities;
Take the ski lift up to Scotland's only indoor snow slope with, yes real, fresh, white snow. Open all year round, not even the famous French Alps can compete with that.
The slope is the longest in the UK at 200m with 2 drag lifts (poma) plus there is a nursery slope with rope tows for sledging and lessons. There are regular special-discounted events and even a thrilling free-style night to come along to. In order to be allowed on the main slope skiers and snowboards need to be able to control their speed, turn and use the drag lifts.
However, don't worry, if you feel the need to brush up on your skill or you are a complete beginner, Braehead's Snow Factor is the perfect place to learn. Excellent, patient instructors are happy to teach you all the skills and techniques for very reasonable lesson rates that include equipment. The younger kids will absolutely love sledging on the real snow, especially if there are a few months still to go before they can go in the winter!
The Snow Factor bar just the place to stop off for a bit of apres ski. Have a bite to eat and a refreshing drink as you look out onto the fun being had on the slopes. The large deck area will give you some brilliant photo opportunities, but just so you know it's still wise to wrap up for the -4 degree temperature!
If having fun on the slopes isn't for you, there is a multitude to do for any budget and taste. From the moment you enter, you're greeted by the humongous Robocoaster, a giant robotic arm thrill ride, the only one in UK. If that's too daunting, there is a ten pin bowling alley complete with an arcade area. Particularly good on a Friday and Saturday night, you can have a full 10 frames for £10 and it is open till 2am.
If that's not quite adrenaline inducing enough, Climbzone, which is the first of its kind in the world, will allow you to free-fall a full 15m. Completely safe, you are secured by high-strength harnesses giving you the confidence to leap before two huge fans will stop your descent, leaving the brave few with a smile that's hard to get rid of.
For more leisurely options, Intu also has a massive cinema, laser quest, a football circus and another world record facility; the biggest indoor mini-golf complex.
Located nextdoor is the Braehead Shopping Centre with a big range of over 100 high street outlets.
Intu Braehead has a great public transport system in order to get into Glasgow City Centre. The X7 and X23 buses takes you past the Glasgow Science Centre, with the huge 3D IMAX screen, all the way into the centre of Glasgow in approximately 35 minutes.
